Privacy Policy

Light of Mine is operated by Too Full Too Free LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”). This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

We believe in minimal data collection. We only collect what's necessary to provide a great Bible memorization experience. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or track you across other apps.


Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account (via email, Apple Sign-In, or Google Sign-In), we collect your email address for authentication and account recovery. Passwords are securely hashed — we never see your plain-text password. We do not collect your name, phone number, or physical address.

Gameplay data. To track your progress and provide game features, we collect play sessions (which passages you've practiced and when), performance metrics (accuracy and completion times), streak data, favorites and collections, and hint usage.

App settings. Your preferences (audio, haptics, notifications, Bible translation, language, background theme) are stored locally on your device.

Error and crash data. We use Sentry for error monitoring. When errors occur, we collect error messages, stack traces, and session information. This data does not include personal content.

Analytics. We use PostHog to understand how the app is used and improve the experience. PostHog receives your user ID, email address, app language, Bible translation preference, and usage events (feature usage patterns and feature flag evaluations). This data is linked to your account for analytics purposes.

Device information. We collect app version and operating system only when you contact support. We do not collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, or location data.


How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide gameplay and sync progress across devices, remember your preferences, send notifications (if you enable them), fix bugs, and respond to support requests.

We use automated processing to suggest passages based on your play history and preferences. This does not produce legal or similarly significant effects — it only personalizes which verses are recommended.

Each service has its own privacy policy: Supabase, Sentry, PostHog, RevenueCat. We do not use advertising networks or social media tracking.


Notifications

Light of Mine uses local notifications (processed entirely on your device) for daily verse reminders, streak reminders, and re-engagement reminders. No notification data is sent to external servers. You can disable notifications in app settings or device settings at any time.


Data Storage and Security

Account and gameplay data is stored on Supabase servers. Settings are stored locally on your device. All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are cryptographically hashed. Database access is protected by Row-Level Security, ensuring you can only access your own data.


International Data Transfers

Your data is processed and stored on servers in the United States (AWS US-West, Oregon) through our service providers (Supabase, Sentry, PostHog). If you are located outside the US, your data is transferred to the US. These providers maintain appropriate safeguards including Standard Contractual Clauses for EU data transfers.


Data Retention

  • Account and gameplay data — Retained while active; deleted within 14 days of a deletion request
  • Error logs — Retained by Sentry for up to 90 days
  • Analytics — Anonymized upon account deletion; anonymized data may be retained for aggregate analysis

Your Rights

Regardless of where you live, you can:

  • Access and export your data — Settings > Account > Export My Data
  • Delete your account and all data — Settings > Account > Delete Account
  • Manage notifications — Settings > Notifications
  • Modify settings — All preferences can be changed at any time

If you are in the EU/EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we process your data under consent (account creation), contract performance (providing the service), and legitimate interest (error monitoring, anonymized analytics). You also have the right to rectify, restrict, or object to processing, request data portability, withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

If you are a California resident, we do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We collect data directly from you (account creation, gameplay) and automatically from your device (error logs, anonymized analytics). You have the right to know what data we collect, request deletion, and exercise these rights without discrimination. You can submit requests via email or through the in-app Delete Account feature (Settings > Account).

Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
